Tiger Woods made the cut in his first official tournament since last summer’s British Open despite faltering late in his second round. He shot a 3-over 74 and sits at 1 over par through 36 holes at Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Woods said he did not putt well and could have shot five or six better than he did. He is playing to win and is ranked 1,294th. He closed his first round with three straight birdies, but struggled to finish in the same manner in his second round, making three bogeys over his final four holes. He apologized for a moment that went viral where he handed Justin Thomas a tampon, saying it was meant to be all fun and games. He is 10 shots off the lead, but will compete into the weekend with an eye toward improvement.
